How can FASTChurch help churches without being onsite?

FASTChurch Bookkeeping uses modern technology to eliminate the need for us to physically be at your church. Essentially everything is done through email. When necessary, phone calls and secure cloud-based services can be utilized. If desired, we can even meet with you, your board, or any others desired via web-based video calls. Though we have a physical address to which you could send postal mail, this is generally discouraged for multiple reasons:
  1. It delays items from reaching us, which slows down the payment of bills, data entry, etc.
  2. We are occasionally away from this address for several days or weeks at a time, meaning we may not be able to handle them in a timely fashion.
  3. Postal service mail is not always reliable, as it is commonly lost or delayed.
  4. We store everything electronically so that we don't have to maintain large amounts of physical file cabinet storage. So if we receive physical copies, we must take the time to scan them, which makes our services less cost-effective for you.
So on your end, you will basically need:
  1. A scanner with which you can scan the documents that need to be sent to us. If you have a multi-function printer at your office (one that prints, copies, scans, and faxes), you already have what you need. In many cases, these scanners can be set to scan directly to email, making it unnecessary to even deal with the separate tasks of saving the scans to a computer and then attaching them to an email. If you don't already have a scanner, these multi-function machines are the most economical way to acquire a scanner, as they can be purchased for under $50 at any local or online stores that sell them. Stand-alone scanners can also be used. (We discourage the use of cell phone cameras for scanning documents, as only one page can be scanned at a time, and the images are often skewed and difficult to read.)
  2. A computer with email capabilities (unless the scanner can scan directly to email).
  3. A person with computer skills adequate enough to use the scanner (and a computer and email with attachments, if necessary), and who regularly has about 15 minutes per week to scan and email these things to us.
